Facebook has launched a new payment service in the United States. The service is named 'Facebook Pay'. The unified payment service will work on core apps like Messenger, WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook.
Facebook said Tuesday that it will pay the service or send money to another customer. For security, zip codes or smartphone's biometric features will be used. Meanwhile, Facebook chief Mark Zuckerberg announced earlier this year that plans were being made to integrate the company's various messaging platforms. News Reuters.
The user has to decide whether they want to continue this service on Facebook or in the companion app of the organization. For starters only this service will be available on Facebook and Messenger. Later the feature will be available on Instagram and WhatsApp. The service can be used to provide support, buy Ingeme purchases, event tickets, personal transactions and on the Facebook Marketplace page.
The social media giant said the new transaction service will provide pricing information, dates, billing and contact information. Using this information, the customer will be shown targeted ads. Facebook and Messenger 'Facebook Pay' will be launched in the US this week, the company said.
